Hello
I have been experimenting with the pi-top [4] paired with the touchscreen display & Bluetooth keyboard & I’m curious about its potential as a minimalist mobile development workstation something like a “PiBook” for on-the-go coding / robotics debugging. However; there are some ergonomic and performance-related concerns that come up when trying to use this setup in real-world, mobile environments.
For instance; is there a recommended way to optimize the battery profile and resource usage when running code editors like VS Code (via remote or lightweight alternatives)?
Also; how can the touchscreen gestures be fine-tuned for smoother multitasking in this dev-focused setup? Right now; I find switching between terminal, browser, and code to be a bit clunky on a smaller display. Checked https://www.pi-top.com/start/pi-top-4-Salesforce Admin Training guide related to this and found it quite informative.
Has anyone in the community explored this kind of configuration? I’d love to see setup tips or share scripts, maybe even collaborate on a custom pi-top OS profile geared toward mobile development use. Bonus if it integrates well with the Robotics Kit for field testing bots without needing a full laptop.
Thank you !!
