I often get it that Chromium opens when I do a double click on the rack pad. It is not from a normal double click but more when a finger is maybe resting on it as well. I have tried uninstalling Chromium, but somehow too many packages get removed and the system crashes. I do not need Chromium as I prefer Midori anyway.
Any ideas how to stop it ?
Unfortunately, I have no idea what could be happening with your trackpad to cause this behaviour. However, as far as I can tell, it shouldn’t be removing more than a few (all related) packages:
pi@pi-top:~ $ sudo apt remove -s chromium-browser
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
The following packages were automatically installed and are no longer required:
chromium-codecs-ffmpeg-extra
Use 'sudo apt autoremove' to remove them.
The following packages will be REMOVED:
chromium-browser chromium-browser-l10n rpi-chromium-mods
0 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 3 to remove and 21 not upgraded.
Remv rpi-chromium-mods [20210212]
Remv chromium-browser-l10n [86.0.4240.197-rpt1]
Remv chromium-browser [86.0.4240.197-rpt1]
The last time I tried maybe I did a sudo apt-get purge chromium
I never got the system to reboot…
It has just happened again 3rd time today , its like a double click with a single after… My laptop sometimes does a sticky keys query…
It opens an Untitled windows then about 3 mnutes later further.pi-top.com/start
How can I remove further? it takes about 10 minutes to load.
13 mins later Chromium not responding
mouse barely moves
CTL ALT DEL nothing
32% cpu
sd card flashing…
cant open a termnal to kill Chromium
cant kill wifi
now 16 mins
@daveawalker I hate to suggest this, but it might be the easiest way - can you burn a fresh pi-topOS SD card and try removing chromium as Mike suggested?
