Pi-top FHD touch display connected to RasPi 3B+ Undervoltage Issue

Hi all,

I have just received the pi-top FHD touch display and bluetooth keyboard and I have connected the display to a Raspberry Pi 3B+ as per the official pi-top video here: https://youtu.be/tGb7oSRs9gk. However the Pi reports an undervoltage on boot and shuts down. I am using an official Raspberry Pi 4 USB-C power supply. If the official power supply is not up to the task can someone suggest a supply that is?

I identified the issue was the power socket i was using is a reduced output. using a different socket with the official supply works fine.

Good! They didn’t actually anticipate people using the screen/keyboard without a Pi-Top 4, so a user would have the beefier Pi-Top 4 power supply. I was going to suggest adding 1 Amp to the capacity, because a screen that size would definitely use less than that power. As you’ve discovered, there’s enough capacity in the official supply for addons that aren’t power-hogs. That was smart of them.
