For which version of pi-topOS does this fix work?
I tried it on Bullseye. Didn’t work. Complains on can’t install python3-pt-common.
Does anyone have a hint?

Seems to work with raspbian buster.
Soft shutdown ist working either (after installing pi-top software).
Even battery symbol is showing up.
Is there a way to resolve these dependency problems without using an old version of Raspbian?
I abandoned the outdated stock Pi-Top OS after the hub stopped working but was excited to revisit and see that this fix was available. Installed Raspberry Pi OS Bookworm and the additional packages for PiTop device support (which failed to detect the hub and strangely seemed to make it work worse than just using stock Bookworm, I lost WiFi somehow!) and of course the hub ‘fix’ on the website fails to install due to dependency problems.
Latest Software 28-08-2024 the battery works, the speaker works but the power off does not.
So near but so far. :-(. What a shame that the new systems doesn’t talk to the hub properly. I understand its old hardware now, but all the git archives went in 2022, useful information in there and had the python code, which I’m sure some of us could tweak…see https://web.archive.org/web/20201025182022/http://github.com/pi-top/Device-Management for instance. when I run pi-top devices, it identifies HuB V1 but no devices. Battery works, button works, but Hub doesn’t turn off… If you look at the code of the Buster “fix” it references “pt-common”, no longer there albeit pitop.common et al does…
